Krishna, the Origin of All
October 25 , 2007
Hare Krishna.
Your understanding regarding Lord Krishna position is correct, Krishna is the original Supreme Personality of Godhead. The analogy is given of one original candle lighting many others, although all the candles have the same potency to provide light, there is one original, Krishna is the original source of all emanations. All manifestations of Godhead come forth from Him. Those who state that Krishna is an avatar of Visnu do not possess the proper understanding due to incomplete knowledge. One simply needs to consult the supreme authority, Lord Brahma, regarding this matter. His conclusion
isvarah paramah krishnah
sac-cid-ananda-vigrahah
anadir adir govindah
sarva-karana-karanam (BS 5.1)
As to you second question regarding Krishna's manifest form in Goloka Vrindavan, my understanding is that Krishna engages in loving exchange with His devotees according to their desires to serve Him. Some indication is given of His extraordinary manifestations by His pastimes here, when He made Himself individually available in each the palaces of His 16,108 queens of Dwarka. Although I know I have read specifically regarding His Goloka manifestation as a small child, please excuse my inability to fully recall the full explanation. However, rest assured that there is nothing missing from Krishna's Goloka pastimes.
Thanks again,
